The first Lithuanian school in San Diego was founded in 2001, by Dalyte Lovett, when it was noticed that the local Lithuanian families are either commuting to Los Angeles or are not learning the Lithuanian language and its culture. She and co-director Simona Kaušas gathered some 20 students and their families to start the school, which was initially hosted at a home-preschool run by one of the moms. As the school started to take shape, Dalyte, the granddaughter of the beloved Lithuanian poet Bernardas Brazdžionis, suggested that the school be named after the poet, who himself attended the grand opening. Simona and Dalyte were co-directors for many years, followed by Gailė Rasas. The school ceased to operate in 2010. The current school, still carrying the previous name, was established in 2013, this time with Simona Kaušas playing the leading role. Simona is a director with Rūta Stecher serving as Treasurer. Classes are available for both children and adults.  Join us as we have fun learning about our beautiful language, forming friendships and carrying the traditions forward.  The 2018 school year staff includes teachers Lina Narcum, Una Greblikaitė, Inga Greblikienė and Rūta Stecher.
