History of the House of Lithuania
In August of 2018, because of dwindling membership and low level of membership participation, members of the House of Lithuania voted to withdraw from the House of Pacific Relations and dissolve the House of Lithuania.
In 1946 Lithuanian American war veterans returning from the wars in Europe and the Pacific started a social club in San Diego, CA. In 1974 the members of the club voted to join the House of Pacific Relations (HPR) International Cottages. Subsequently the club was admitted as an Affiliate Members of HPR: the House of Lithuania. Membership is primarily composed of individuals who are of Lithuanian descent by birth, heritage, or marriage, and/or friendship. However, all individuals, of all nationalities, are welcome (and encouraged) to join. House of Lithuania (HoL) is a 501c(3) not-for-profit charitable organization and donations are always welcome. HPR International Cottages The House of Lithuania actively supports cultural programs and events at HPR International Cottages and elsewhere, including the following: · House of Lithuania Cultural Displays · Lithuanian Independence Day Celebraton · Bernardas Brazdžionis Lithuanian School More information on these events is available in the links above.
