Titus Samys, founding president of the House of Lithuania, was one of the original proposers of the present-day Ethnic Food Fair while he was president of the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages (1980 and 1981). The well-established, long-running Ethnic Food Fair provides the opportunity for member countries to offer their traditional foods for the public's enjoyment.  Items which were offered by the House of Lithuania in recent Food Fairs were imported Lithuanian ice cream "Dadu" and Lithuanian home-made cookies.  Sausages with Lithuanian style sauerkraut, "Šaltibarščiai" (cold Lithuanian beet soup), "Kugelis" (Lithuanian potato pudding), are being considered for future Ethnic Food Fairs.

During the Ethnic Food Fair, members of the House of Lithuania greet San Diegans with Lithuanian or Litvak roots, provide visitors with information about the House of Lithuania, and even help with Lithuanian translation services.

Photographs from May 28th, 2017 Ethnic Food Fair:

Our booth for 2017 was small, but adequate (and well-staffed)...  We sold Dadu (Lithuanian ice cream) and home-made cookies.
Visitors to Balboa Park stopped at the House of Lithuania booth for dessert...

Adele organized the committee.  Milda and Ruta baked many hundreds of cookies. Liz and David brought in the ice cream. Sarunas and Barney helped man the booth...

Sarunas entertained staff and customers...
