San Diego has a very active and diverse Lithuanian-American Community. Members of that group actively support and participate in the events sponsored by the House of Lithuania.
The difference between the two groups is this:
- The House of Lithuania (HoL) is a San Diego-based organization whose charter is to provide cultural education about Lithuania primarily to those visiting San Diego's Balboa Park.
- The Lithuanian-American Community (LAC) is part of a U.S.-wide network of emigree chapters working to preserve Lithuanian heritage by supporting social, cultural and political activities not only within their specific locale, but also in Lithuania itself.
